Quick question why did Adam only get 10 playing time. He’s earned his playtime I would like a common sense explanation.

Originally I subbed out Adam to get him a rest and had the possibility of putting him I'm at the 6. However Adam does tend to stay a bit high when playing there. So I decided to not play him at the 6. I also believe Dylan played very well at the 8 spot and did everything I asked both offensively a defensively. The only other opportunity we had was at the end of the game when we pulled Carlos out and we could've put him back him but went with Darragh instead. I agree Adam has earned playing time so two things 1) when players on the field (especially during shorter games) are doing the work we want to leave them there. And 2) in training we need to see him sit a bit further back as the 6 to move the ball around more. Hope this helps. The goal today wasn't to have him sit.

I watched him move the ball better than any of the players last game playing the the or 8 for that matter. You guys are telling me that Donny doesn’t do these things your claiming Adam didn’t do. You guys need to learn to stick with the players that got you there. Dillon and Donny are good players. I don’t want to take anything away from them but I don’t remember him last week nor do I remember Donny much either. You need to learn that consistency and substance is what matters I’m seeing none of that and Adam does not deserve that treatment plain and simple.

It makes good coaching sense to substitute more on hot days as well. A good set of fresh legs does make sense.

I'm not taking away Adam moving the ball at all, never said that. I believe Donnie sits in the 6 pocket better than Adam does which contributes a lot to moving the ball around. Dylan did struggle a bit last weekend. But today was not the case Dylan played simple and helped us move the ball especially playing the ball back to the backline he also did the work defensively. Donnie also got an assist today. It's nothing to do with consistency of substitutions. Adam got subbed because he looked a bit tired and needed a break, then when the midfield who goes in is doing everything we are asking there is no need to sub them out. This isn't to say Adam had a bad game.

He contributes usually to kicking blindly. Your the coach though ............. I just think you’re sending the wrong message to a player that works his ass off for you guys and having the best 11 players on the field is a good idea. I am firm on this, 10 minutes is not right under those circumstances period. Consistency is a good idea... I honestly can’t tell if you guys are committed to having a winning team, it’s all over the place.... That’s constructive criticism... With that said Forrest I do understand rhythm of a game thing. I’m sorry guys for busting your balls but I made a huge mistake moving my boys to this team. This whole thing is my fault for believing you guys were up to the task of making my boys better players with more confidence. You are nicer guys I’ll give you that . I should have stayed where I was, my team didn’t have spoiled catered to super stars and they treated each other well and understood working hard and being pushed was ok.

I'm sorry you feel that way. You asked for a logical explanation as to why Adam got so little time and I believe I gave you a good one. Consistency is a great idea I agree with you. The starting lineup has been pretty consistent the last few games and if guys are looking tired or not doing the things we ask we sub them. It was simple, Adam looked tired. And then the midfield while he was out did the job, yes Donnie does tend to boot the ball more than I'd be like, but his positioning and passes when we does connect them make up for this. Adam needs to learn to sit back more as a 6 and Dylan played a great 8 today. after this conversation this has honestly lead me to be willing to try Adam at the 10. Regardless of what you decide I wish the best for both of your boys.

And I do agree that Adam works his ass off, but I do believe Carlos Dylan and Donnie work hard as well.

For example, Kanan works his ass off too, should I start him over Leland and Jacob? Should I put him in over izaak? Everyone on this team works hard.

I know and agree I am just super frustrated how this whole season has gone. I think you guys are capable of more than you’re putting out plain and simple. You’re there you and Bert are making the decisions. I do get that, I also know it’s hard when you are on the field. I made my piece try not to make to much of it than what it is. I just want improvement all around and quicker than its happening.

Improvement comes through effort and accountability from all players and staff.

Bert and Forrest I am sorry for being so harsh. I will support your decisions regardless and handle this more politely and in person rather than text. As a coach I know how hard it is and you guys are putting in the time and effort. You made the drive I didn’t, my apologies. Once again sorry for my heavy wording, I will request a meeting next time. This is just soccer I need to remind myself of that fact, a children’s game. Andre

Thanks for the text’s Andre. I always welcome feedback from everyone. I share your passion for the game and can understand your perspective as a parent. Forrest did a good job replying to specific points you raised about the game yesterday, so I’ll be brief and simply say that this season has been challenging on many fronts for the entire team—players, parents and coaches alike. Like you, I've wanted to see improvement faster than its happening. We see potential with the players in this group, but as you said they are young, and they are prone to make mistakes. As with any team, there are always issues that need to be addressed. We do our best to listen, take what is shared, and then work to find the best way forward for everyone. Your boys are an important part of this team, and have been a great asset to the group—always positive, hard-working, respectful, inquisitive, and willing to take direction. They do everything a coach could want from a player and I appreciate having them with us. I agree that talking about these types of issues through text isn’t the best, a conversation is. Feel free to catch us at training this week Tuesday or Thursday if you want to talk about this more. Again thanks for your feedback. Hope you and the family have a good Sunday!
