Hi Jenn, nice to hear from you. Im a software designer. Although inside industry were called Product Designers or UX Designers. The job market for my type of work is horrible and has been for almost 2 years now. There are likely hundreds of thousands of us unemployed and we are all sort of stunned that we hear nothing on the media about it. Always hearing about lots of jobs being available but I can’t find one to save my life And I’ve done the rounds on the box stores as well. I have applied to Walmart target Home Depot Lowe’s Trader Joe’s, you name it and I get rejected from them because I am “overqualified“

Staying here in California means I have to stay homeless. But if I go to Colorado I have family and could have a roof over my head. I hear you on the boys. Honestly they are the only thing that has kept me tethered here. I would have been gone a decade ago if not for them. Yeah, I may be in the Boulder area by the end of this month. That or the Carbondale area on the Western Slope of the Rockies. Spent time in Carbondale last summer after moving all my stuff off campus into storage in Ojai (still there). Colorado is quite familiar to me, family is there, and there is more hiking adventures than I could do in a lifetime. Reconciliation is something I’ve always wanted. Liz has said yes to counseling, then said no—with her therapist. I got a new MFT and we did remote sessions for a month or so. She was steadfastly stoic and not opening up or vulnerable in any way. Statue-like, and if felt really cold. She asked for time and space and I gave her 1/3 of a year, 4 months, and still would not agree to talk. In my situation I have no recourse but to file for divorce and get her to pay $$$ for me to live until I can do it on my own. When her mother and father divorced, her father didnt let her mother go live in a car on the street for nearly a year and a half. I know, I was there and remember when that went down. I have all my paperwork filled out, I have all supporting documentation and an overview summary of facts to give the court context of my entire situation (like paying for her car insurance, spotify, and cell phone while unemployed and homeless). At this point she’s clearly shown no regard for my well being. She took me off her health insurance plan this past May after telling me I would be on it until I could find a job. Well, another broken promise. I have lots of broken promises and a broken heart. I supported her road to Kona for IRONMAN. Without me, no Kona—fact. It strikes me as selfish to the point of being a full blown narcissistic. I dont know what other way to read her behavior.

Bert, I am sorry this is happening. It’s a lot. Trust me after leaving Thacher it was hard, I was sick, I left without a job and to a city that didn’t value librarians- which made securing work difficult- finally I balanced 2 part time jobs - one private one IB magnet school- neither wanted a full time librarian- or didn’t understand the my value kinda like someone else we know.

I had a client meeting in person at Starbucks this morning and it couldn’t have gone any better. It will help me get one future side project but not enough to get me on my feet. Emotionally been up and down hard today. I had a girlfriend since last Thanksgiving who lives here in Ventura—at the time Liz and I had been separated a couple years, and I dont live on campus. So anyhow, she broke up with me in April. 2 weeks ago I see her and her new boyfriend at the coffeeshop. I’ve been lamenting the fact that if I had a job and a place to live I’d still be with her. She wanted a man who was financially stable and that was not me. It sucks to think I got dumped for that, but that’s life. So dealing with heartache on top of everything else. Haven’t mentioned Jenica to anyone other than family so like the tire favor, Mum’s the word. I have picture from her birthday party in March attached, things were still good. Makes me cry to look because I see how happy she is. 🥺 Weather wise… Its slightly humid, but not very hot unless you’re in sunlight—then you feel your skin sizzle a bit. Full Moon coming up. Astrologically the moon is in scorpio and rules my emotions big time. Makes me think the tides are really high and makes sense being full moon tomorrow. How r u doing?

Hi Jen! I hope the week so far has treated you well. I was able to spend yesterday with Declan + Darragh here at the house by the beach and it was great. We went on 2 beach walks with the dog, In-n-Out for lunch, Pasta dinner here while we did Fantasy Football drafts with my brother, Uncle Russ whos the commissioner of the league. Then watched some Ted Lasso, and took them back up to campus. When I said goodbye to Darragh the moment was alot for him and he started to cry, we hugged for a long, long time. Then back in the car until I hit the road for CO. I need to leave majority of my stuff here in storage in Ojai, but I do need to go through things and be smart about what I pack to head to the Rockies. Hi Jen, Hope you’re day is going well. Couple hours of work into it for me already. Have a long day ahead. Lots to do. For example, There’s a really great role I’m applying to that aligns exactly with a previous role I had for 6 years. So the Tires.. I made an appointment for this afternoon to bring it in. I noticed when there that people with appointments were in/out fast. Whereas walking in I had to wait forever. So, set for a 4:15pm appt. They had a space for a note about your Appt. Here’s what I submitted. — Had my car in a few days ago for two new tires to replace the balding tires on the front of the car. I didn't notice until yesterday, but the new tires were on the front. New tires go on the rear if only two are replaced, yet mine are on the front. — I have the paperwork and if I see Ivan I’ll connect with him on it, since he was my service rep.

Have plenty for Colorado and maybe back. The pair that just got replaced I had from the beginning and that was 30,000 miles ago the ones on the car now have probably had 10 to 15,000 put on

Oy. 🤣 Been challenging on the money/resources front, however that has been persistent for 18 months so I’m normalized to it. But my heightened self awareness sees it clearly. Hi, sent an email yesterday to follow up after waiting 10 days. Haven’t heard anything back yet. However, I think I am still going but I’ll still live in the car a while. No space at my cousins place. Its all good I’ve been doing it over a year and a half. Its “normal” now 🙁 Tenative departue date is Oct 4 or 5th. Should take 4 days to get there.

Depressions coming back, really strong. I’ve weathered it before, but it sucks — its paralyzing and I lose either all or 1/2 the day dealing with that. Being unproductive is a challenging thing for me to sit with. I’m simply exhausted from surviving. I feel as though I haven’t “lived” since before 2018. Yesterday was bad. Frozen with depression for most of the day. Today is slightly better, but its still there.
