Hi Forrest! Got your vm. I was thinking small sided games so they can get a feel for how to play in the sand. I think a short warmup and some stretches, then perhaps some technical work on how to pass/move the ball on sand. I think the kids may have no idea that they cannot dribble very much (if at all) so I feel its important for them to do some technical work on passing/controlling in the sand. And then lots of playing and application (trial and error) to try and figure out how to move the ball.

You will want to use that formation to have them work so they are used to it. I think Tom may know the size of the fields they setup. Might be good to mimic the setup as close as possible.

Also a heads up that Kanan’s mom talked with me and Forrest last night about his playing time and his experience overall. Focus was on others not passing him the ball (teammate trust) and his worry about making mistakes on field in the game that will get him put back on the bench. Felt we provided some things he can work on, but also felt that she walked away very unhappy. Kanan won’t be at training tomorrow, or the game this Sunday. Wanted you to know this. We can, and should, talk about it tomorrow between the coaches.
