It's a little complicated, so it's probably better to explain on a call. But after the race I found officials and asked to petition/inquire about validity. I spoke with the guy running the tracking/timing for the whole event and he did a data investigation for me based on what I explained to him. Although it didn't "feel" right there wasn't anything nefarious going on. Part of of it has to do with staggered starts where people start the race at different times based on their swim times so fast people don't overrun slow swimmers. I even woke up this morning thinking about it. I had a good talk with Elizabeth about it and she's ok with the results. She's happy with her race, her performance, and the day on the whole. She's good so I'm good. Big picture she's improved her race and going forward she'll be even faster. 👍

Hi Dad, just saw this. Declan’s mid-term grades were not good. We’ve talked with all his teachers, advisor, Dean of Studies and the new head of school about things. He is working VERY hard and being extremely diligent about putting in the effort. He’s getting extra help, going to proctored study hall, and doing all he can. However, he has gaps in some of his skills. In particular with analysis and writing which affects him big-time in English and History, both of which requires lots of reading and writing. At this point Declan is continuing to work hard and improve his grades, we’re in contact with his teachers about how he’s doing, and I’m remaining optimistic that he can keep his head above water and stay. Declan wants to work hard and try to stay. However, if he continues to struggle and is unable to get all his grades to passing level he’ll likely have to transfer to Nordhoff, the public high school. He’s aware of this as we’ve sat and talked with him. We’ve told him many times over that no matter what happens that he’s a great kid who we are VERY proud of.

I went with Liz this morning to visit Nat in the hospital. His sodium levels got very low due to urinary tract infection and it affects his mind and heart. I will do roughly the same amount of hours driving as on the computer searching — 26 total hours (no sleep) I know what the drive will take I’ve done it once before and I’m already through the difficult part. I’ve not taken time off from looking for a new position, I’m submitting and reaching out every day. It’s incredibly competitive in my line of work right now.
