So I’ll take a guess and say you either support Fulham Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal, Palace, West Ham, or Brentford. Wow I never realized how many clubs were from London. 😳 Okay please be gentle with me 😂 I’ve been a Chelsea fan since Claudio Ranieri was managing the club, they were wearing the auto glass jerseys and Gianfranco Zola, and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbank were starting for the club. I’ve been rather unhappy since they let Thomas Toole go because of the clash of personalities with the new owner, who happens to also own the Dodgers. It’s all a big mess for Chelsea. Although I am happy to see Mauricio Pochettino in. Need to give him two or three seasons to dial it in. OK, now I wait with bated breath. Apologies for the radio silence, I was getting settled at Faria Beach campsite on Sunday and then the morning yesterday was consumed by Work, and then I was off to Ojai for the first day varsity soccer training. you absolutely have no reason to fear disappointing me. 😊 At least you have an understanding, some people don’t get it and the only real parallel I can draw is to someone who is a fan of the NFL, the NBA or MLB. I’m a huge fan of the game, but if the team loses it doesn’t ruin my day 🤣🤣🤣 Some can’t take it when their team loses😬 And I do know Leeds. I remember one day watching Mark Viduka score 4 goals in one match for them—incredible performance. I’m here at this lovely beach spot until Thursday and then back to Ojai. Let me know what your schedule is like as the end of this month approaches. Hi Bert ! Great photo! I hope your beach camp trip was as relaxing as it sounds. I am a production designer by trade, for print advertising so still photography mostly, but I seem to be doing more motion these days. I have a shoot on Monday, so this week was spent prepping for that. Also I’ve been getting my head around starting to ease into my new place next week. It’s all very exciting. Hi Jan OMG — apologies for the radio silence. Been busy past few days 😊 but all good. Beach camp was amazing — a must do again item. I was a production designer for a small design firm in Long Beach back in the late 90’s! 😲 I can run a photo shoots, press and bindery checks, the whole shebang. However, over time I was drawn in by ‘shiny objects’ of the digital design space—been doing it so long there’s not much I haven’t done.

Thing is the school we were playing is 6, yes six, divisions higher than us. In England, the equivalent would be a non-league local club losing to a Premier League team two to one. And we had the lead 1-0! The boys played incredibly well, and with a bit more quality and a touch of luck we would’ve pulled that upset off

Our next and last game before the holiday break for the boys is this Thursday against Nordhoff. Nordhoff high school is Ojai public high school, and Thacher is the largest private school in Ojai so every year there is a crosstown game that takes place. It’s a friendly that goes back decades, and is essentially for bragging rights. 😁 My son Declan, who graduated from Nordhoff two years ago, played in this game, against his brother Darragh, who is currently playing in his third game this Thursday as a senior . Declan was a senior, and Darragh was a sophomore when they played against each other. I have a picture of the two of them after the game with their kits on. It’s one of my favorites. Thacher won that year. And Nordhoff has won the past two years in a row. So I think it’s time for Thacher to pull the win again. 👍⚽️

I had to bring a couple of architectural models as hand props, so I contacted the career counselor at Sci Arch. She sent out an email blast to the students, and they all submitted their models to me. The two that were chosen, were so excited that their work would be photographed in front of one of their heroes buildings ! It was cute

Makes sense. It was grey, and 🌧️ Should be better tomorrow. We have a home game at 3:30 at Thacher. We scrimmaged for a short while in the rain today, anticipating it being that way for tomorrow’s game, but that will not be the case according to the forecast I’m looking at. I think the rain will hit again on Friday into Saturday, and after that, I believe it’s gone. One thing I can tell you is that unless the precipitation percentage is above 50%, it never rains here. Hi Jan, It Was nice yesterday in Ojai once the clouds opened. Late afternoon was perfect for football ⚽ we didn't win but played well. Defensive mistakes, and missed chances were the difference, otherwise a very competitive and physical game. Did you get up this way with the dogs? If so, how was it? You still here or go back? Luckily I woke up with the sunrise ( no window coverings yet !) but also can’t wait wait for them to leave at sunset so I can have a shower !! 🤣 Feeling a bit better today thanks to my lovely friends making me soup and letting me nap on their sofa yesterday to escape the hammering here. Feeling quite accomplished right now as I am extremely close to finishing that retched report I have to deliver on Monday 💪🏼. How is your day going ? 😊

My day has also been a mixed bag like yours, the highlight being a hike to the top of one of the local foothills here in the valley with the one and only Weston! Even at 14 years old he’s still on his game, despite the hearing 😊

The clouds are a time lapse I took from the top of the mountain. I do have another one that includes Twin Peaks beneath it, but it’s much longer, and would be a nightmare to text (too much data) 😕

And yes slaving away under a cacophony of hammering, compressors and nail guns ! Amazing how you can tune it out when focused…. It’s starting to wear a little thin now though . Only one more hour to go. I appreciate that they are pushing hard to finish today, let’s hope they do !
