hey Bert! hey from the redwoods. For the first time since I was probably about 7 years old, I don’t know who’s playing and it feels great! I think its the 49ers and... hmmm... the Ravens maybe? I’ve been really focused on dealing with chronic pain stuff - yoga, long walks, trail building in the forest. Trying to turn off the electronics more, and actually doing a digital detox next month for four days at an ashram about an hour from us. Enjoy the game! We’re off for a cuppa at a great little coffeehouse that I’d be at every day, except no wifi and no cell reception and not great coffee. But its stunning! Photo from last Sunday:

Hey Tyler! Hope you and yours are well! We just got done with 2 weeks of Covid in my house. We all got it, all vaxxed, I’m boosted, and all had mild symptoms, fatigue being the biggest and most lingering. Although I still haven’t gotten my full lung capacity back yet like pre Covid. Anyhow we’re all tested negative now (pcr tests) and getting back to things. Lets make sure we get a hangout on the books before end of March 😁 Found this gem today on Twitter. Hey man, I got your message. Thank you 🙏 for remembering me. This past month has been a very hard struggle for me. Extremely isolated and lonely with a strong Groundhog Day vibe. Coming in on a year of unemployment and homelessness and still haven’t finalized a divorce sucks. Essentially penniless now. Can’t look or plan beyond a day due to finding a place to park and sleep in the car 🚙 Not to mention that today on my birthday I lost my health insurance With Elizabeth and Thacher. Depression looming large as well. It’s been a nonstop pendulum for about six years now. I’ve never been able to get solid care 😢 I applied for Medi-Cal two weeks ago and I do have a case number but as of right now I have no idea if I have health insurance. I can’t afford anything because I don’t have any money. I have a ton of creditors on my ass And I’m slowly losing my grip on making other payments. Pretty soon I’m gonna end up legitimately on the street with what I got on me as I go full on minimalist. Who knows? I don’t that’s for sure. I’m in OJAI now until Darragh graduates from Thacher early June. Then I may head to Colorado and the Rockies. Anyway great to hear from you and I would love to schedule a meeting time to interview you for my job search work I’m in the middle of Cheers from the parking lot of Libby Park back by the old Timey jail

Hey Bert - Wow, man, you’re in a rough spot, thanks for sharing what you are going through. I’m glad you have family in Colorado - that seems like a fine landing place and better than the alternatives you’re facing in Ojai. I’m going to keep an ear out for work and contract-type opportunities for you. Are you on upwork.com? Anything fruitful there? One thing I see a need for on a pretty regular basis - design for Squarespace, Spotify and Wix. Maybe create service pages for one or more of those? I know its not ideal but could be steady for a while until you get back in to something more befitting. What about more rudimentary online work like tech support and whatnot just to keep some money coming in? It’s pretty easy to say “this too shall pass” (which it will) when you’re not in it, but just keep moving forward, working on your path. And breathing. I’m on overwhelm here, fwiw. We started our build of a small house (16x32) last week, and 15 hr days aren’t even cutting it. Up at 7a for the builders, squeezing in work until 10p or so. It’s kind of brutal, not complaining, but it’s stretching me extremely thin. Keep me in the loop and I’ll check in with you. Take care my friend.
