Hear it, sing it, say it or type it - Midomi will find your music. Powered by Melodis's own Sound2Sound Search Science, Midomi means music search.
Music ID: Midomi listens to recorded music and instantly identifies the song and artist. Tap the big orange button and hold your phone close to the speaker. For best results, avoid talking or singing over the recording, and let midomi listen until it gives you a result. Not there? Please let us know
here so we can add the song to our database.
Singing Search: See if Midomi can identify what you sing or hum. Tap the big orange button and sing or hum right into your phone's microphone. Midomi matches your melody and rhythm with millions of recordings on midomi.com, and works for any key or tempo. Lyrics are optional and help too. For best results, have just one person sing at time for at least ten seconds with no background music or noise. Still can't find it? Log on to Midomi.com and be the first to add your song in the "Studio." Then anyone who sings it will find it! Or, you can have us ask a user to add it.
Say Search: Just use the say search button underneath the orange button on the main search page. You can hold, talk, then release - or tap, talk, then tap again when done. Say a song, artist, or both. You can say things like
"Sugar Magnolia by Grateful Dead," "Sugar Magnolia Grateful Dead," "Grateful Dead Sugar Magnolia," "Grateful Dead," or
"Sugar Magnolia." For best results, minimize background noise and speak clearly into the phone. Not there? Let us know
here so we can add your item.
Typing Search: Tap on the keyboard icon at the bottom right of the screen and type in a song or artist. Suggestions appear as you type, including alternate spellings.
Pending searches: If your phone does not have adequate network access when you do a search with the orange button, Midomi will save your search as "pending." This will appear in red on the History screen under Searches, and a number will appear on the History button and the Midomi application icon. When you have internet access again, you can retry your search by tapping on it. Not sure what you were looking for? You can tap on the sound icon to replay your recorded audio.
