X01 RULES

The object of X01 is to lower your
score from an initial value of X01
to exactly 0. Points are lost each
throw of a player's turn by
subtracting the value of the throw
from the player's previous score.

SCORING

All board slots are in effect in
X01 games, and throw values follow
general darts scoring rules. E.g.,
a double 20 (D20) is worth 20
x 2 = 40 points. A triple 17 (T17)
is worth 17 x 3 = 51 points. An
outer bullseye is worth 25 while an
inner bullseye is worth 50 points.

GAME OPTIONS

There are two options for X01
games: starting score and in/out
requirements. The starting score
can be any of 301, 501, 601, 701,
or 1001. The in/out requirements
denote the throw required for
a player to start scoring (the in
requirement) or win the game by
reaching a score of exactly zero
(the out requirement).

IN REQUIREMENT

A requirement of "double-in" means
that a player only starts scoring
points when a throw lands in any
slot on the board in the doubles
ring. That is, once a player
throws a double, they score with
that throw as well as subsequent
throws.

A requirement of "single-in" means
that the first throw that hits any
board slot causes a player to start
scoring.

OUT REQUIREMENT

A requirement of "double-out" means
that a player must reach a final
score of exactly zero while also
throwing a double. For instance,
if a player has a score of 22 in
a double-out game, a throw of D11
would reach zero exactly since 11
x 2 = 22.

As a special note, it is common to
allow players in a double-out game
to go out on a bullseye (not just
a double bullseye). We've adopted
this convention in our game.

SETTING UP X01 GAMES

In the "Game Options" section of
the X01 game setup screen, you can
set the starting score and in/out
requirements. The default X01
setup is 501, single-in,
double-out. This setup is quite
popular in professional
tournaments.

WINNING

The first player to reach a score
of EXACTLY zero wins. If for
instance a player has a score of
5 and throws a 7 in a single-out
game, the player "busts" since his
score would be -2 which is less
than 0.

BUSTING

When a player busts, they regain
any points lost in the turn and
immediately lose the remainder of
the throws in their turn.

GETTING OUT MORE EASILY IN
DOUBLE-OUT GAMES

At the bottom of the scoreboard on
a player's side will be a possible
sequence of throws that would reach
a score of exactly zero from the
player's current score. Usually
this information is either
memorized or provided by an "out
chart." We've simply integrated
a handy "smart out chart" for you
in this game.

FUN FACTS

The highest score possible in
a turn in an X01 game is 180 (T20
T20 T20).

A "perfect game" of 501 is achieved
by only 9 total dart throws! The
sequence is:

T20 T20 T20
T20 T20 T20
T20 T19 D12

This has been achieved in a number
of professional dart tournaments,
much to the delight of the cheering
crowds!
