CRICKET RULES

Cricket is likely the most popular
variant of darts played in the
United States. The object of
Cricket is to hit the slots 15-20
inclusive and the bullseye 3 times
each while scoring more points than
your opponent.

SCORING

The first player to hit any of the
aforementioned slots 3 times before
their opponent can earn points with
further hits on the same slot. When
both players have hit a slot
3 times, no points can be earned by
either player with further hits on
that slot.

A throw that lands in the singles
area is worth 1 hit; the doubles
area 2 hits; and the triples area
3 hits. An outer bullseye counts as
1 hit while an inner bullseye counts
as 2 hits.

On the scoreboard, a single hit is
denoted by a slash; 2 hits by an X;
3 hits by an X inside a circle.

SCORING EXAMPLE

As an example, let's say player
A has 2 hits on the 20 slot while
player B has 1 hit. In player A's
next turn, he throws a double 20,
then a single 20. The double 20
counts as 2 hits and brings the
total hits for the 20 slot to 3.
Since player B has not yet hit the
20 3 times, player A's final throw
of the turn, a single 20 worth
1 hit, earns him 20 points.

A hit on the bullseye that earns
points is worth 25 points while
a double hit on the bullseye that
earns points is worth 50 points.

WINNING

Players alternate turns by throwing
3 darts each. The game ends when
one player has hit each slot in
15-20 inclusive and the bullseye
3 times while also having more
points than their opponent.

DRAWS

In this implementation, ties or
draws are not possible. If both
players have hit all required slots
3 times but have equal score (even
0), the player who hit all the
required slots first is declared the
winner.
