File Browser

Like the Finder, Air Sharing’s file browser lets you explore a folder hierarchy to view the contents of your folders.

Pinch-Zooming

You can “pinch” to zoom in and out in the folder viewer. You can control whether Air Sharing displays more files on the screen, or more information about each file.

Fast Access to Folders

Touching the navigation bar in the folder viewer brings up the folder popup, which lets you instantly move up the folder hierarchy to a recently viewed folder:

Document Viewer

Air Sharing's document viewer lets you display many types of documents. For fast access in large documents, you can use the scrollbar to move quickly around in a document.

Fast Paging

While you hold down the Page Up or Page Down button while viewing a large document, the view will page continuously, and will accelerate for rapid relocation.

Supported File Formats

In Air Sharing, you can view not only the myriad standard file formats that are supported by Safari, such as web content, video, audio, images, and plain text, but also many other types of documents. A few of these are illustrated by the documents in Air Sharing’s Samples folder. For documents that span multiple pages, Air Sharing saves your viewing position when you are done viewing, and restores that position when you view again. Page Up and Page Down buttons in the viewer help you scan quickly through a long document.

Web Archives

In addition to viewing folders of web content, Air Sharing can view web pages saved from Safari (on Windows or Mac OS X) as Web Archives. Web archives package the text, images, and other content of a web page in a single file for offline viewing.

iWork Documents

Air Sharing also lets you view iWork documents (Pages, Keynote, and Numbers). For the most accurate viewing results, save your iWork documents with the "Include preview in document" option.

Rich Text Format

In addition to the standard RTF format, Air Sharing lets you view RTFD documents, that is, RTF documents with embedded images.

Microsoft Office

Thanks to the iPhone's native support for Office file formats, Air Sharing lets you view Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents. Support for Office 2007 formats (.docx, .xlsx, and .pptx) is limited.

Source Code

Air Sharing lets you view source code files with syntax color coding. Supported source formats include C/C++, Objective C/C++, C#, Java, Javascript, Perl, Python, Ruby, shell scripts, XML, and Property Lists. Many other source formats can be viewed as plain text.

Images

Air Sharing's image viewer lets you view images in the standard formats supported by iPhone OS. Special image buffering allows you to view even high-resolution images.
