After launching Air Sharing on this device, you may connect to it from a Mac OS X
computer by following these simple steps:
- Click on the Finder icon
- Select the Connect to Server... item in the Go menu (or simply press Command-K)
- Type Air Sharing’s IP address, displayed at the bottom of the main screen.
There should now be a Shared disk mounted on your Mac:
If you have set up Finder’s Preferences to Show “connected servers” on the
Desktop, you will also see a disk image on the Desktop.
You may also mount your iPhone or iPod touch by name, using Bonjour. Click the Connection button
on Air Sharing’s folder-browser screen to see alternate addresses that can be used to access
Air Sharing.
The advantage of using the Bonjour address is that it will always be the same (unless you change the
name of your device), whereas the IP address may change from one day to the next.
Fast Access
After you have mounted your Air Sharing disk once, you may simplify future access by creating an alias to it, or to any folder in it. You can do this simply by selecting the folder in Finder, and selecting the File > Make Alias menu item. Alternatively, you can drag the folder onto the Dock. Later, when you want to copy a document onto this device, simply launch Air Sharing, double-click the alias (or click the Docked icon) to open the folder, and then drag your document onto the folder.
